How to Transfer to a Vegan Diet

For starters, the thought of cutting off all dairy products and meat in their diet is a nightmare. The society today incorporates a large percentage of dairy products and eggs in the daily food intake. Therefore, in order to avoid getting overwhelmed with the idea of transitioning to a vegan diet, all that is required is for you to follow these simple steps:

Step 1: Cut Out Red Meat

Start by eliminating all sorts of red meat from your diet, be it pork, lamb or beef. However, continue consuming white meat in the form of seafood and chicken. Products such as vegetarian mince or meat-free bacon can also come in handy at this stage.

Step 2: Cut Out Chicken

The next step should be to eliminate chicken from your diet. Stick to seafood while slowly learning how to prepare recipes without meat.

Step 3: Cut out Seafood

This includes all forms of fish or sea-life delicacies. By now, you will have learnt how to incorporate proteins such as whole grains, meat-free bacon, vegetarian mince, legumes and tofu into your recipes. Today, there is a wide array of vegetarian foods available in shops and other food outlets. Especially with products such as tofu, there is no limit to how creative your vegan recipes can get!

Step 4: Forget all About Eggs

If you plan on going vegan, why not do it right? Eggs are considered to be animal products. If this proves to be difficult, you can go for alternatives such as the tofu yummy mock egg dishes. They are vegan and tasty!

Step 5: Eliminate Butter, Cream, Cheese and Milk

All these are anti-vegan but with great alternatives in the store such as soy milk, olive oil, vegan margarine and mock-cheese for your sandwiches.
